The Inter-American Union for Housing (Uniapravi) - an international non-governmental non-profit organization that groups together public and private institutions that finance, promote and regulate housing development and urban management in the American continent-, is one of the sponsors of the III Latin American and Caribbean Forum on housing and habitat: Housing at the center of the New Urban Agenda.
Uniapravi was founded in Caracas, Venezuela, on November 12, 196 and is currently the main inter-American benchmark in the generation of public policies and best practices for sustainable housing development and financing.
Uniapravi has about 100 member institutions -among savings and loan associations, housing banks, mortgage banks, multiple banks with mortgage portfolios, housing funds, housing ministries or secretariats, chambers and construction companies, housing developers, etc. It is present in 21 countries: Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
