With these premises, the objective of this Vi-Lab is to generate public policies to address the increasing trend of renting since 2000. According to ECLAC, by 2019, 21% of urban households in LAC were renting.

Incentive policies for Rental Social Housing
Renting, as a housing option, should be as desirable, legitimate and affordable as owning. Although countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru have implemented rental subsidy policies, all cases have found that, despite high demand, the supply of social housing for rent is low.
