Clone of Contest

The UHPH Platform, within the framework of the IV Latin American and the Caribbean Housing Forum, “ACTION FOR SHELTER AND SETTLMENTS FACING COVID-19,” that was hold on May 17-21, 2021, made it´s contest with three categories: 1. Public Policies 2. Inspirational Practices, and 3. Shelter Technologies (ShelterTech Award).

30 project were finalists—10 per category—noteworthy initiatives that help “make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” (SDG No. 11), empowering post-pandemic reactivation and the sustainable transformation of housing and urban habitat towards a more inclusive, resilient and healthy future.

The Shelter Technologies category will award four technology innovations and will be recognized in a special ceremony during the 4th Latin American and Caribbean Housing and Habitat Forum: Actions for housing and settlements facing COVID. In addition, one of the four winners in each category will be chosen to receive a “Best in Show” award.

Each winner will receive:

• Funding of up to US$ 4,000 for a technical visit, course, internship, or to receive technical assistance services to get to learn about another practice or experience, or to access international expertise or advice of interest that will contribute to strengthen and scale their initiative.
   
• Presentation and award of the initiative at the 4th Housing and Habitat Forum, to be held in May 2021.
   
• Inclusion in the “Top 100 Global Housing Innovations Award” and participate in the international recognition ceremony tentatively scheduled to take place at the end of 2021.
   
• Publication on the UHPH digital platform, becoming part of the collection of the network's Public Policies and Inspirational Practices.

Additionally, the winner “Best in Show” will receive a surprise award.

All applications must be submitted before March 1st, 2021, at 23:59:59 (Central American Time).
