Community of Practice
INCREMENTAL HOUSING
Goal
The UHPH’s Communities of Practices (COPs) seek to foster interaction, collaboration and learning among coalition partners and transfer practical knowledge to the region. COPs are working groups in specific areas of interest, where members can collaborate in generating solutions, identifying best practices and formulating recommendations. These working groups promote co-creation and the exchange of expertise with the objective of generating alliances to seek funding and common projects.

Incremental Housing
The sequential or progressive informal building process, led directly by the householder, who hires a master builder.
This path takes a period of 10 to 20 years (or even more).
In regions such as Latin America, around 70% of the housing stock is developed in this way.
